  Functional Food Research Team

  Principal Investigator: Zhang Mingwei, Research Fellow / Ph.D.


  There are 21 members in the team, including 8 research fellows. The team is engaged in the research and development of personalized healthy foods with characteristic agriculture products. The main research interests include (1) the investigation of the healthy benefits of characteristic agriculture products and the underlying action mechanism; (2) the exploration of the features of nutrients and bioactive components in the characteristic agriculture products during food processing and the establishment of the corresponding regulation techniques; (3) accurate design and creation of personalized healthy foods using the characteristic agriculture products. The team has won 3 second prizes of national science and technology progress award, 6 first prizes of provincial science and technology award. Two invention patents owned by the team won the China Patent Silver Award and Guangdong Patent Gold Award, respectively. The team has been chosen as the key field innovative research group of the innovative talents boosting plan. This team has also obtained the award of excellent innovative research group of China Agricultural Science and Technology Award.
